Scott claims a 6 and 0 MMA record. He lost a Pancrase style fight to Brazilian fighter Rico Rodriguez by decision. “With a little more training I think I would have beaten him. I took the fight on 24 hours notice and he outweighed me by 70 pounds.” Rodriguez recently defeated Travis Fulton by submission.

On his training with Chuck Liddell who is known for his striking while Scott is known for his grappling: “We’re good for each other. We’re like the odd couple. In everything in life he is the opposite of me. We come together to mix perfectly. We compliment each other’s strengths and weaknesses.”

Scott and Chuck met on the Cal-Poly wrestling team when Chuck was a senior and Scott was a freshman.

“We’re out here in the middle of nowhere in San Louis Obispo so I drive around and train with whoever I can get my hands on. I’ve trained with Bas Rutten, Marco Ruas, I’ve been to Frank Shamrock’s school a couple of times. I’ve only been to these places a few times but I just take a little bit of knowledge and expand on that. To be on the cutting edge you’ve got to experiment with new techniques. You’ve got to evolve.” “We fight in almost ever show in California. We’ve fought in the Cobra Challenge, the IFC, Neutral Grounds. We’ve basically used up the California market.”

“As a kid I took Tae Kwon Do but I found that using my wrestling I could take the TKD guys down and hold them down. I’d get into a fight and try to use my TKD but it just wasn’t second nature. Point fighting wasn’t cutting it. I didn’t know what real fighting was until the Ultimate Fighting Championship came out and I’ve been addicted ever since. I felt like, “Finally the truth is revealed!”
