TRAINING: I wake up and drop my son off to my parents’ house and then I head to the gym for a 2 hour workout - either Boxing with sprints, or grappling followed by a run. After that I head back to pick up little man so I can hang out with him before I have to go back to the gym to spar at night.

When and why did you start training for fighting? I love the combat aspect and martial arts in general. Fighting has made me who I am and I owe everything to this sport - my wife, son, house, life, everything.

What ranks and titles have you held? Tachi Palace Flyweight and Bantamweight Champion. FILA World Champion in Pankration, Grapplers Quest Champ

Do you have any heroes? My older brother Herculez Gomez

What does it mean for you to fight in the UFC? It's all I ever wanted to do growing up.

Did you go to college and if so what degree did you earn? UNLV. No degree

What was your job before you started fighting? Cabana Attendant at the Hard Rock. I still work there.
